The Umarex Canex Leads in Value and Innovation

The perfect day for you might not be the perfect day for me, but when I think of shooting the Canex, the newest pellet rifle from Umarex, a perfect day might include a fresh box of CO2, a tin of pellets, a whole stack of Shoot-N-C adhesive targets, and a couple of old boxes to stick the targets to.

The Canex is a simple pellet rifle, that is to say that it has a very simple interface, and offers shooters an enormous return on their investment. Since the Canex is powered by two 12g CO2 cartridges, there is no wrestling match with the barrel for each shot or an expensive and time consuming pump needed to power it up either. Just unscrew the CO2 piercing screw found under the removable stock shoulder pad and install the first cartridge with the tip pointed toward the muzzle and the second cartridge with the tip facing the back of the rifle.

With the screw tightened up, double check the safety to make sure it is in the safe position, then load up the disk magazines with your favorite .177 caliber pellets. Each magazine holds 10 pellets and Umarex didn’t just leave you hanging with one magazine. There are three magazines included with the Canex. This rifle is an absolute ball to shoot without an optic since it is equipped with a set of iron sights. However, if you do want to shoot with a scope, just pick up a set of 11mm dovetail style rings. These rings will attach to the dovetail mount located on the receiver.

Value and Innovation

The magazine system is another high-point for this rifle. Like other Umarex airguns that use a disk style magazine, load from the gear side of the magazine so that the skirt of the pellet is showing on the gear side. To install the magazine in the rifle, push the magazine retention tabs forward and then slide the magazine (gear to the rear) into the slot on the left side of the rifle. Once the magazine is pushed in all the way, release the retention tab.

The Canex has a push-through safety that is located on the trigger. With the safety disengaged, you are then ready to shoot. Now you might expect that this rifle has a terrible trigger, but you would also be wrong. Just a bit of smooth take up and an impressive break at about the 4-5 lb range.

You and the Family, or Just You

All in all the Canex is a rifle you can enjoy with the family, your friends, or just by yourself. With velocity coming in at 700 FPS with a lead pellet, the Canex is certainly up to some garden pest duty, too.

The Canex represents Umarex Airguns’ commitment to offer value and innovation to our customers. In this case, you get a lot of both. Pick up the Canex by itself or look up at the top of the page and get our Range Ready Bundle that comes with everything you need to spend the perfect day at the range.
