What’s On Your Airgun Wishlist?  Part One– Air Pistols

It’s that time of year where we start thinking about what we would like to give– and what we would like to receive. Our loved ones have wish lists and so do we. So whether you are scouring the internet for ideas for your loved ones or scratching down notes for yourself, here’s what's hot under the Umarex umbrella for the 2024 holiday season. 

First in this three part installment is our look at air pistols. We will break this down into three parts, replica airguns, pellet pistols, and airsoft pistols. 

Replica .177 Caliber BB Pistols

Hands down the most popular air pistol in this category is the GLOCK 17 Gen 3 blowback BB pistol. This version of the GLOCK 17 is a half-blowback model, meaning the slide does reciprocate with each shot, but it doesn’t go back as far as the slide of the firearm it is based on does. With a full size drop free magazine, reliable 12g CO2 power and an affordable price, the GLOCK 17 is certainly a fan favorite. 

Another huge fan favorite this year has been our replica of Beretta’s M92 A1. Our version has a twist, though. Not only is it a full featured blowback airgun, but it also has a full-auto shooting mode. These factors add up to an extremely high fun quotient. This best seller is a very capable, durable, and just a great example of how good our replicas are. 

The Legends P.08 is a perennial fan favorite as it seems the love of historical and significant firearms never really goes away. World War II era guns like the P.08 “Luger” find themselves at or near the center of popular culture to this day with a little help from Hollywood and the video game world. Oh, and let’s not forget military history lovers.  We have to give them a little love, too. The P.08 utilizes a working toggle action, just like the firearm, which makes it the neatest thing since the shirt pocket came about. 

Pellet Pistols

In this category the first spot has to go to the Colt Peacemaker .177 caliber pellet revolver. Naturally, this revolver features a rifled barrel. The real reason people love this replica is how realistic it is. The Colt Peacemaker uses a cartridge of sorts from which the pellets are loaded and shot from once placed in the revolving cylinder. This cartridge looks much like and is sized approximately the same as a .38 Special cartridge. This means that standard (or custom) gun leather can be used for both the revolver or the cartridges. Many customers have customized their Peacemakers with hand-made grips and custom leather holsters and belts. This one is a winner. 

The Walther PPQ M2 belt magazine pellet pistol has been super popular this year. One thing that has been traditionally hard to do is make an airgun that features blowback action and shoots pellets. With BB guns, this is a cinch, but due to the fragility of pellets and their unique shape, this hasn’t been easy. Now with the belt magazine, the pellet can be fed properly and we can achieve blowback action, too. For this reason, and, no doubt, the superb feel of Walther’s PPQ design, this pistol has been a very strong seller in 2024.

With a slightly late debut for the year, the GLOCK 17 Gen 5 is making up ground this year and finishing strong.  Did you know about it?  Not only is this full size GLOCK decked out with Gen 5 features, it also features a belt style magazine and blowback action. Now you know.  The question is, do you give this as a gift, or gift yourself? 

Airsoft Pistols

In spite of Umarex Airguns native focus on traditional airguns, we do still sell a lot of airsoft product through our website, in spite of the existence of our Elite Force Airsoft website. Be that as it may, the top three, er five, I mean ten best selling airsoft pistol through Umarex Airgun are all GLOCKs. 

The top selling GLOCK from Umarex’s website for this year has been the 18C Gen 3.  This is a green gas powered, fully automatic, extended magazine airsoft gun.  In short, this airsoft pistol has it all. 

Next we will find green gas powered GLOCK 19X. In handsome coyote brown, this short slide, full-size grip airsoft pistol hits the “perfect” button for many airsoft players. Is it the perfect green gas airsoft gun for you?
